Arsenal line up French midfielder Gourcuff if Fabregas leaves

Should Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas move to Barcelona, the Gunners will look to sign Frenchman Yoann Gourcuff from Bordeaux, according to the Sunday Express.Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has only just completed the signing of striker Marouane Chamakh from Bordeaux, but the Sunday Express claims that he could return to the French club to sign one of the 'golden boys' of French football. There is widespread speculation that midfield schemer Fabregas will leave for the Nou Camp and should he do so, Gourcuff is reportedly viewed as the ideal replacement for the Gunners. The 23 year-old enjoyed an excellent season at Bordeaux, scored 9 goals and helped Laurent Blanc's side to the Champions League quarter-finals. Gourcuff spent three years at AC Milan earlier in his career, but returned to France where he has since flourished.
